Flip the card for a plain-language explanation, grounded in real commentary, not a guess.
A word explained, a fact worth knowing, or a question worth actually sitting with.
Kanha is a free Android app that takes you through Krishna's teaching one verse at a time, from chapter 2 through chapter 18. Each card shows the translation on the front and a plain-language explanation on the back.
It is free, with no ads, no subscriptions and no paywall.
Yes, it was built for that. It starts with a short illustrated story of what leads up to the teaching, then goes one verse at a time with a plain-English meaning on the back of every card. You choose a daily pace and Kanha shows how long the whole book will take at that pace.
The verses are Swami Swarupananda's 1909 English translation, which is in the public domain, with old pronouns such as thou and thee updated. The explanations and reflection questions are Kanha's own words.
Chapters 2 to 18, from where Krishna's teaching begins (verse 2.11) to the last verse (18.78). Chapter 1 and the opening of chapter 2 are told as a short illustrated story instead of verse by verse.
