Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 14, Verse 12
Greed, activity, the undertaking of actions, unrest, longing, these arise when Rajas is predominant, O bull of the Bhâratas.
Restlessness and greed are named here as the real, visible signature of passion taking over.
Rather than describing rajas abstractly, Krishna points to specific, real symptoms, craving and exertion for gain. What passion looks like from the outside is made concrete.
