Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 3, Verse 36

Arjuna said: But by what is a man impelled to commit sin, even unwillingly, as if driven by force, O descendant of Vrishni?

Arjuna asks the question most people eventually ask: why do I keep doing the thing I already know is wrong?

This is a genuinely honest question, not a rhetorical one. Arjuna already senses right from wrong, yet still feels pulled toward the wrong thing anyway, and wants to understand what's actually driving that pull.
