Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 4, Verse 36

Even if you are the most sinful among all the sinful, yet by the raft of knowledge alone you shall go across all sin.

Nobody's past is heavy enough to actually disqualify them from this. That door stays open regardless.

This is a genuinely generous claim, no one is written off here based on where they've been. Real understanding is described as capable of carrying anyone across, no matter how far off course they started.
