Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 5, Verse 22

Since enjoyments that are contact-born are parents of misery alone, and with beginning and end, O son of Kunti, a wise man does not seek pleasure in them.

Anything with a start and an end will leave you wanting more eventually.

This isn't dismissing pleasure as fake, it's describing its shape. Anything that begins and ends carries a built-in disappointment once it's over, which is why someone wise doesn't build their hope around it.
