Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 8, Verse 28

Whatever meritorious effect is declared in the Scriptures to accrue from the study of the Vedas, the performance of Yajnas, the practice of austerities and gifts, above all this rises the Yogi, having known this, and attains to the primeval, supreme Abode.

This real understanding is described as outweighing even a whole list of otherwise significant, respected practices.

This closes the chapter with a real, direct comparison. Genuine clarity about these two paths isn't described as a minor addition to other spiritual practices, it's described as surpassing even substantial, traditionally respected ones.
