Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 12, Verse 16

He who is free from dependence, who is pure, prompt, unconcerned, untroubled, renouncing every undertaking, he who is thus devoted to Me, is dear to Me.

Being unmoved by material gain is named here as real freedom, not disengagement from life itself.

Staying skillful and careful in action while genuinely not chasing outcomes shows this isn't passivity. Real engagement without real attachment is the quality being described.
