Chapter 12: Bhakti Yoga
the yoga of devotion
Arjuna asks who is better established: those who worship a personal form with devotion, or those who meditate on the unmanifest. Krishna says both reach the goal, but devotion to a personal form is easier for embodied beings. He gives a ladder of practices for people at different points, then describes the qualities of a person dear to him: kind, free of hatred, even in pain and pleasure.
Devotion is a practical path, not only a feeling.
