Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 4, Verse 30-31

All of these are knowers of Yajna, having their sins consumed by Yajna, and eating of the nectar, the remnant of Yajna, they go to the Eternal Brahman. This world itself is not for the non-performer of Yajna; how then another, O best of the Kurus?

There's a real cost to never offering anything up, and it shows up as a kind of missing fulfillment either way.

This isn't a threat, it's an honest observation. Someone who never participates in this kind of genuine exchange tends to feel it, a real absence, not just here but in how their whole life carries forward.
