Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 4, Verse 32

Various Yajnas, like the above, are strewn in the store-house of the Veda. Know them all to be born of action, and thus knowing, you shall be free.

Seeing where all these different practices actually come from is itself part of what starts loosening the knot.

This closes out the long list from the previous verses with a real point: the variety wasn't random, each form grew out of a different kind of work. Understanding that connection is described as genuinely freeing, not just informative.
