Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 5, Verse 12
The well-poised, forsaking the fruit of action, attains peace, born of steadfastness; the unbalanced one, led by desire, is bound by being attached to the fruit of action.
The exact same effort leads to two very different places, depending on who it was really done for.
This draws a clean, direct contrast. Offering the outcome genuinely leads to real peace, while working purely for personal gain keeps someone caught in the same cycle, the difference isn't the action, it's the motive underneath it.
