Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 7, Verse 16
Four kinds of virtuous men worship Me, O Arjuna, the distressed, the seeker of knowledge, the seeker of enjoyment, and the wise, O bull among the Bhâratas.
People arrive at genuine devotion from real, different starting points, not just one single motivation.
This is a real, generous list. Someone might turn toward this path out of real hardship, real curiosity, real want, or genuine understanding, and all four are named here as legitimate, not just the most advanced one.
