Krishna begins to speak about his own nature. Everything that exists, he says, is made of a lower nature (matter) and a higher nature (life), and all of it is strung on him like beads on a thread. He describes four kinds of people who turn to the divine: the distressed, the seekers of knowledge, the seekers of wealth, and the wise.
