Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 18, Verse 12
The threefold fruit of action, disagreeable, agreeable and mixed, accrues to non-relinquishers after death, but never to relinquishers.
A real, specific consequence is named here for attachment, and a real, specific exemption for those without it.
Krishna doesn't leave the payoff vague, he names exactly what accrues and to whom, and exactly who escapes it entirely. Real cause and real exemption are both stated directly.
