Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 18, Verse 44
Agriculture, cattle-rearing and trade are the duties of the Vaishyas, born of their own nature; and action consisting of service is the duty of the Sudras, born of their own nature.
Real, practical work is named here directly, farming, trade, service, not abstract virtue.
Krishna doesn't need lofty language for these two roles, he names concrete, everyday labor as their genuine dharma. Real value is placed on ordinary, necessary work.
